Hi,

we have settled active directory few years ago. We run also Cognos 8.2.

In the active directory, we have a folder APPS and into it we have a folder Cognos. When i bind Cognos with AD, it point to the root level of AD. How could i let it point to root/APPS/Cognos.

The main goal of this is when i give permission, i dont need to browse each folder to reach the cognos defined groups.

Thank you for your help!

I also use authentication via Active Directory.

The situation you describe seems normal to me, but maybe that's because we only have one AD and I never attached another AD to our Cognos system ;)

Another option would be to create "Domain Local security groups", and grant these groups the appropriate rights in Cognos. If another user needs rights, they can be given via group membership in your AD.
