Hello,

I need help with a report.  I have two queries.  In simple terms both queries have a list of employees.  Query A has all employees and Query B has employees on benefits.  I need a report that will show employee without benefits.

I thought a except function would work but it doesn't.

Any thoughts on how I can make this work?

Hi,

Can you describe what you tried in a little more detail? You should be able to go to the Query Explorer, drag in an Except, link your two existing queries into it, then have it feed the results into a new query. From what you described as your requirement, this should give you the results you need in the new query. It's not clear from what you posted if this is what you have already tried, though. Also be aware that both source queries need to contain the same items of data in the same order.

Cheers!

MF.

In the Queries 'canvas', drag in the 'except' join item (a circle with a '-' sign) from the "Insertable objects" menu , this will create a third query, that should provide what you want.
