Hi All
I have ReportNet(all components ReportStudio/QueryStudio/CognosConnection & FrameworkManager) installed on my LapTop, everything works fine but the case being I never could make it work with Oracle DB so had to deinstall Oracle and install MS-SQL and configured my ReportNet with MS-SQL Server.

I published the Packages taking the data from MS-SQL Server like the Northwind,Pubs etc.,.

Well now Can any one help me out how to Publish the Go_SalesGo_Retailers Package which comes with the Cognos.

I tried couple of times and it throws an error saying it has to do something with the DataSource.
Well I think I know the problem ...but need some suggestions

Well I have this Materials from Cognos which gives step-by-step approach to certain problems but with out the Go_SalesGo_Retailers Package its all waste.

I know its not a easy one word answer, but help me out
Thanks

Darek

Dude! That's one of the simplest things to do! Even with the COGNOS documentation.

Just restore the DBs to new databases, create connections in CC, put the ZIPs in deployment, and deploy deploy deploy ...

I'd never call myself a 'Guru'. I've seen things, I've traveled places, but I'm still learning.

1. In the samples folder, you will find backups of GO DBs for different database systems. Using Enterprise Manager restore them one by one, just like the manual suggests, to your M$ SQL into new databases..

2. Go to Cognos Connection and just like the manual suggests, create database connections and test them if they work. If you want to use Integrated Authentication your CRN service needs to run under some account, not as Local System.

3. Copy sample ZIP files to deployment folder, create new deployment packages and deploy, just like the manual suggests.

There is really nothing to it. It just works, 99.99% of the time. However, for some reason, it is possible that you are the unlucky 0.01%.

Cheers. Just like the manual suggests.
