connect 2 charts (and vice versa)

Hi

I have simple dataset
1. Country
2. Company
3. Revenue

I want to connect 2 pie charts that way, so when I press on segment of A chart, chart B changes automatically based on selected segment of chart A. And vice versa - when I press on segment of B chart, chart A changes automatically based on selected segment of chart B.

I was able to create 2 pie charts, used chart B under data deck, used master-detail connection on chart B and data deck and connected chart A and chart B.

But, when Im trying to create vice versa connection (chart B->chart A), and adding chart A under data deck, suddenly its not working...

Could you please advise how can I create such connection? Am I missing something?

Hi,

Are you using two data decks - one for each chart - or are you using a single data deck with both charts in it? I would probably use two data decks alongside each other here.

First data deck is based on Country, and the pie chart within it shows revenue by Company, and is master-detailed to the data deck based on Country.
Second data deck is based on Company, and the pie chart within it shows revenue by Country, and is master-detailed to the data deck based on Company.
The first pie chart acts as a control for the second data deck - Company selects Company.
The second pie chart acts as a control for the first data deck - Country selects Country.

I would probably add a Default Card to each data deck also with the same chart as in the main data deck, but obviously not master-detailed (so you can see overall charts for all Countries and all Companies). These charts would also act as controls using the same variables as the charts in the main cards.

Cheers!

MF.
