CNC-DS-0015 Error extracting options

Evening all,

We are currently running 11.1.7 FP1 (FP2 in testing).
We have in the past few weeks started to receive the error message CNC-DS-0015 Error extracting options when users are scheduling reports and creating jobs.

These are reports/jobs that mail may email just links or attachments to users.
Intermittently they fail with the error detailed above.

Ive followed IBM KB https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/cnc-ds-0015-error-extracting-options-error-scheduled-e-mails-attachmentswhich is for an older version of Cognos but unfortunately hasnt resolved our issue.

ive also checked the mail server connections and all looks good.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and been able to resolve it?

Hi Jon,

I'm assuming the reports in this instance have been moved across from an earlier version of Cognos? Do you know if these errors occur just with the migrated reports, or do they occur with newly authored reports too?

I found an old support document that references this error with respect to migrated reports. The fix seemed to be to upgrade all the report specs using a content maintenance task and run a content store consistency check:

Not sure if this is still relevant with current versions, but it's the next place I'd go looking.

Ive found the issue, well I've found what I believe to be a bug in FP1 that's causing this issue.
we have seen instances whereby the sendto field of a scheduled report or report within a job has been replaced with both a CAMID ( the user then receives a rejection email from the mail servers) or it simply blanks the Sendto field out and the error CNC-DS-0015 Error extracting options is then displayed against the scheduled item. The report still saves but has no where to go.

I've logged it with IBM support so hopefully I'll get some feedback soon, i'll update this post once I have an answer in case it helps anybody else in the future.  :D
