Hello

I have been using cognos 10 in a chrome explorer for over a year and suddenly the other day when I went into design view i only get the top menu bar and a blank page. I know it is recommended to use I.E over Chrome but again for a year i had no issue so i don't know what made it suddenly stop. I tried to delete cache, adjust security settings and still nothing.

Anyone ever experience this?

There was an issue reported last week around latest version of CA and upgraded versions of chrome something to do with cross site scripting and vulnerabilities. I suspect that this might impact older versions of Cognos too. Which version of chrome are you running ?

I think the 10.2.2 version of Report Studio is also affected, Nick. Issues appear to be with 11.1.7 Authoring and 10.2.2 Report Studio with the latest Chrome build. Might be worth using Firefox or IE for the moment.

Cheers!

I'm planning to ask a group of users to start evaluating 11.1.7 tomorrow.  Chrome is our main browser.  Can you please post a step-by-step process that demonstrates the problem?

What about Edge chromium? are there also issues with this one ?  I may need to suspend the update to 11.1.7 if there are issues for consumers.  Report writers may use IE, but the less techinal users have Edge as default browser.

Lots of information about this at https://community.ibm.com/community/user/businessanalytics/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?MessageKey=e9e489c9-a080-4aea-b2d3-11da3caf467b&CommunityKey=6b10df83-0b3c-4f92-8b1f-1fd80d0e7e58

Bottom line:  Cognos Analytics 11.1.7 Interim Fix 2  is available on Fix Central.  I have verified that it installs cleanly over 11.1.7 and corrects the problem.  (Of course, I don't know what new problems it introduces yet.)

Next step:  Does 11.1.7IF2 install cleanly over an SSL-enabled 11.0.13FP1?  I'll let you know.

I will show a step by step tomorrow and find out which version of chrome I am running.

Sorry it isn't letting me post this picture. Basically its a white screen where you would usually see the report, but I still have access to the top menu bar

Hello dougp

no update has been installed since I made this post. I am just a report designer, my I.T department would handle any updates/fixes to be installed.

srmoure

I can confirm that there are issues with the latest Edge chromium versions (above 85) in CA 11.1.R5 and CA11.1.R7 .  IE and older chromium version (v80) are fine.  Also, the Fix Pack #2 resolves the issue in R7.

11.1.7IF2 installs cleanly over 11.0.13.1 with SSL enabled.

Attempting to install FM 11.1.7 over an SSL-enabled FM 11.0.13 leads to disaster.  Remove FM first, then install, or install to a different folder.  SSL must be configured from scratch.

QuoteWe are looking to upgrade our Lab Environment to CA 11.1.7 from CA 11.0.13.1 with SSL & SSO.
Our major concern of the upgrade is the SSL piece as this was the most complicated during our initial CA Installation.
Are you saying that this upgrade is a "simple" over-the-top process where we will not need to redefine/reconfigure certificates etc. to keep SSL functioning as is?

Yes, upgrading from 11.0.13 to 11.1.7 by installing over-the-top is very clean.
