Hi Gurus,

I've come across a situation for which I seek your advise ASAP. Here goes my situation -

There is a group 'ABC_Group' which should have access to 3 different folders with varying permissions -

1. Reporting - Full Access
2. Advanced - Execute+Move+Copy+Grant_Permission (No_Modification)
3. Restricted - Only Copy+Move reports to this folder (from other)

The problem is when a user from this group tries to copy a report (Having overridden permission for full access) from a folder to 'Restricted' folder, the permission of the report remained same and it didn't change as per the parent folder (i.e. Restricted) permission.

Manually overriding the permission each time a report is copied is not feasible.

Please suggest if this is possible.

Thanks.

QuoteManually overriding the permission each time a report is copied is not feasible.

But manually overriding the permission each time a report is created is feasible?

Reports should inherit permissions from the parent folder.  If this is not happening, it's because someone manually overrode the permissions for the report.  Uncheck the box, then copy.

Hi,

Situation is the group responsible for copying/moving the reports across folders shouldn't have access to override any existing property(ies) of the reports.

There is a separate group of people who can create reports and override any properties of the report including overriding parent folder permission of the report as well.

Since, these 2 groups are unknown to each other, so, it's not feasible to uncheck override permission before copying the report.

Hope, I made myself clear.

Again, thank you for input and appreciate any feasible solution.

Best Regards...
