Hi,
I haved posted this question in Reportnet Admin forum also, but I did not get any response, so I am posting ot here as weel.
  Please read below the queery.
------------------------------------------------------
We have Oracle 8.0.5 (now we are upgrading to 10G  R2.)
We had upgraded Cognos from old version  (maybe 7) to Cognos 8.2 about  a year ago.

Scenerio is, since Cognos 8.2 was not compatible with Oracle 8.0.5, one of our Cognos pundits developed a Linked_server in SQL server  and then made Cognos 8.2 look at Oracle 8.0.5. I am ot sure how it works, but  the reports run fine.
So now we have Cognos reports that run with Oracle 8.0.5..

With the Oracle upgrade going on, how do I make the same reports work? What are the necessary steps I need to configure or set up in Cognos 8.2 so that it looks at Oracle 10G R2.
The Configuration guide for Cognos 8.2 did  not make much sense to me. Can some one give me the correct document or where I need to lookup in the document.
I will need lot of help here..Can some one help me out.
Thanks

You need to change data source to point to new Oracle 10g and hope there's no manually written sql in framework manager or reports.
I'd look through framework manager model to be sure that no not "cognos native" sql is used.
