Dimensional Sorting

Hi everyone,

I'm working with ICA 11.1.1 and a DMR package. When sorting a set on a Crosstab row or column edge, the on-demand sort menu offers "Sort by Label" (i.e. Caption) or "Sort in Layout". The first option (the caption sorting) I understand, but I don't get the "layout" sorting. I tried several diffeent sort scenarios and didn't see any difference between the two options. And the ICA Reporting guide offers no clue.
Could someone please provide an explanation of the difference, perhaps with an example, and make my day...*^_^*
