Dashboard security/capability quandry...

My client desires to have Dashboards enabled, and to have 1 group/role that is allowed to author them, and then give the standard consumer role the ability to run and interact with them without the ability to save them, or create a new dashboard.

So far I am finding that the Dashboard capability is all or nothing... either you can Create, Edit, Save, Run/interact with dashboards... or you can't do anything.  If anyone has figured out a way to limit a group of users to only Run/Interact with dashboards, please share your insights.

Thanks, Mark

I failed to note that we have removed the Save and Author mode icons from the Dashboard application toolbar... while that is indeed a "solution" it is not a great one, since the user gets the "you have unsaved changes" dialog popup when they go to close.  The client isn't real excited about that being our "solution."

Hi Mark,

Did you see the below tech note?

I'm thinking this is what you need? Or am I misunderstanding?

Cheers!

Yeah, did that already, but the client doesn't like the fact that after interaction with the dashboard, there is always that "you have unsaved changes" dialog.  I see to RFEs on this subject, and one says it is "Planned" so I guess we wait...
