Hey everyone!
I'm really new & extremly raw to Cognos, but the company i'm working for rolls over to a brand new platform next month and one of the key programs in reporting will be Cognos. At the moment the majority of all our reports are generated through multiple macros built in excel. What I'd like to be able to do is take us into the next centuary and be one step ahead by having a good understanding and knowledge on how to really utilise Cognos to its full abilities.
Can anyone suggest how I go about getting started on this? Are there books/courses/elearning abilities to help me fast track my learning?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome
Your best bet would be to pay a visit to the Cognos.com website and get yourself booked onto some of their courses, they are invaluable as a starting block. Try speaking to your Cognos account manager as well, you never know they may offer or be able to offer some special deal depending on the number of you that require training.

This forum is a very useful tool and getting a user account for the official Cognos KB is also a good idea.

What ever you decide have fun.

As suggested above, training and practice is the way to go.
Cognos offers discount training if there are many attendees from same company.
To get full benefit from Cognos, there is no fast-track. It'll take a considerable time.
