Run Page as Excel produces output but Run Report gives no data available

Hey all

Got a really weird issue here. I have a simple list report that has one page and one prompt page. If I right click on the page and select "Run Page" I get a perfect Excel output with data, but if I click the run report play button, run report as Excel 2007, or run it from Cognos Connection it produces an Excel output with "No Data Available" in place of the list (headers/footers etc. are all rendered).

Now, here's where it gets more weird. "Run Page" will obviously run the report without the prompt page whereas "Run Report" will display the prompt page first. So naturally, you'd think the issue is the prompts on the prompt page. But even if I remove ALL the filters from the query, thus not even requiring the prompts at all, it still produces no data in the output. But if I then remove the prompt page I get data.

Anyone seen this before?

most probably a cache issue. set the query to use local cache = no.

also make sure when you run form cognos connection, you are running the report not opening an excel saved output. to test try to run as html.
