Do v10 Workspace objects migrate to v11 as Dashboards?

Try as I might, I haven't been able to find a similar question.  I sincerely apologize if I'm asking a repeat question.

Do (or can) v10 Workspace objects migrate forward and be converted into v11 Dashboards?

Esssentially, can the work done to create "dashboards" on v10 be preserved and perpetuated onto v11 as Dashboard objects?  Or are existing v10 Workspace objects relegated to run only in v11's legacy Workspace tool leaving me to manually rebuild any Workspace objects I want to use as v11 Dashboards going forward?

Hi,

No, C10 Workspaces do not get converted to CA dashboards. The Cognos Workspace UI is still included in Cognos Analytics, so you can continue to consume your C10 workspaces in CA, but the underlying technology is totally different from CA dashboards. There is no migration between the two. Honestly, CA reports are a closer technological fit to Workspaces than CA dashboards. You can now base a report on multiple packages (DQM, specifically), which was one of the main advantages of Workspaces in C10. Don't forget that Workspace content is stuff that had already been authored as a report. You could copy and paste the underlying report objects to a new report which replaces your workspace? Just a thought.

Cheers!

MF.
