Background Effects on PAGE HEADER

Hello Cognos community,

Could you please help me out on this one: I work in Report Studio 10.2.1 and I'd like to have my page header in gradient of yellow and white. This object has Background Effects parameter and I saw (both in description note and on forums) that in order to apply background effects, one must set width & height to the object in question.

That is all okay so far. I went to Size and Overflow and there I set some height for the page header (no width setup option). However, when I set background effects, they are not to be seen - neither in Report Studio, nor in the output (tested in Excel, PDF, and HTML).

Question: am I doing something wrong? How make Cognos apply the gradient on a page header?

I was so impatient that I found the solution myself  ;D

Although page header has an option "Background effects", it doesn't really work on its own. In order to use it, the user has to add some container inside, for example, a block, and then apply background effects on this container. And then it works fine!

However, I got another problem: I wanted to have gradients in my Excel output and it's not possible, since background effects work only for PDF and HTML output (at least, in my version of Report Studio). Maybe an image with gradient could have resolved my issue but I need to have a dynamic text on top of the gradient, so..... I guess no chance here.
