Using DMR Hierarchy in a Dashboard

Hi all,  I am using IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0.10

I am unable to find a decent way to use my hierarchy in a Dashboard.  Are you able to drill down from one level to another using a DMR package?

Ie. Show year in a list.  If you click on the year, it filters all charts for that year. (this part is easy)
Is there any way to double click on the year and display quarters with the charts refreshing to the selected Quarter?

How do you utilize a hierarchy with a DMR package?  I tried creating a data module, but I can not seem to setup a Navigation path with a DMR package.

Any help is appreciated!

I did find this online.

QuoteIn 11.0.5 only relational, dynamic query mode packages are supported in data modules; dimensionally modeled relational (DMR) and OLAP metadata are not yet supported in data modules.

Is this still the case?

Hi,

No - this has not been the case for a long time now. Dashboards support use of any package, including DMR.

Yes - dashboards do support drill-down (and drill-up) through the levels of your DMR hierarchies. You don't need to define any navigation paths - your hierarchies provide the drill-down and drill-up paths. Just right-click on a member and use the drill-down icon:

 :o Wow,  I can't believe I missed that.

What through me off is you can't drill down using a list.    I had a bunch of visualizations and one list with the hierarchy hoping I could drill down using the list.  Turns out I don't need the list at all!

Thanks!

Just wanted to mention..  we are using 11.0.11 and need to provide Dashboards in both ENGLISH and FRENCH.

Member Sorting on a LEVEL works when the Content Language is in ENGLISH only.
When the Content Language is switched to FRENCH - Member Sorting is NOT working - that is the Member Sort on the Level is ignored.
No Errors - but the SORT switches to an Alpha Sort - we have an open Support call on this issue.
Workaround is to hard-code a number prefix (ugly..)
NOTE:  This is only in a DASHBOARD report via a non-dashboard report  member sorting in FRENCH via a non-dashboard report is fine)
