Need some expert help - using Cognos Analytics 11.0.7 (SSO Enabled using Active Directory) and trying to create a new data source using SQL Server Native Client. Using windows authentication on the database side. Able to connect fine SQL Server Management studio. When I try to test the connection - get errors. I have a support ticket open - but IBM has been no help.

QE-DEF-0321 The userID or password is either missing or invalid.RQP-DEF-0068 Unable to connect to at least one database during a multi-database attach to 1 database(s) in:      testDataSourceConnection UDA-SQL-0031 Unable to access the "testDataSourceConnection" database. Check that the connection parameters to the database are configured correctly. For example, ensure that the data source connection contains the signon information, such as a password, to connect to the database.UDA-SQL-0129 Invalid login information was detected by the underlying database.UDA-SQL-0566 User authentication failed in operation Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Appreciate any help - Thanks !!

have you the correct sql native client installed?

and I would say, use mixed mode instead.

Yes - the native client is fine. We have other SQL Server connections in the environment - but all of them use a SQL server id / password and all work fine. This is the 1st time we are trying a windows authentication connection.

Even though the data source connection fails - Weird thing is when i use the connection - am able to connect the Framework and import tables. When i run the report - it prompts for an id / password which does not work. I already shared the error when i try to test the data source.

What is mixed mode ? Thanks for your response

It's SQL / Windows authentication mode.

In your SQL Management Studio, righ-click your DB and select Properties
In security page > select authentication > SQL server and Windows Authentication

Wait..
You are on CA11 right?
Have you secured that sqljdbc4.jar  is in the drivers folder?
It should be under //<cognos install path>/drivers/
