Hi.

I'm having some major issues with a new CA 11.0.11 environment and would appreciate any ideas on where to look.

The environment is a distributed, with two gateway boxes and two content manager boxes, using IIS and running as SSL

When we attempt to access the software via the browser we are experiencing load times of between 5 seconds to a minute to display the log on screen. If I view the developer tools window within the browser (F12) i see several errors, which i know isn't good.  >:(

Many of the IBM tickets that relate to similar issues, detail configurations round SSO being incorrect. However we are not using SSO

I've attached a copy of the errors that I'm seeing in the hope they may mean something to someone, as any push or shove in the right direction would be helpful.

Thanks for reading

Hi Jon,

Do you see similar issues if you access CA via the servlet gateway? If it's fast and error-free accessing this way, it points to an issue in the config of your web server. If not (ie if you see the same) then it tells us it's nothing to do with the web server :)

Cheers!

Hello Jon,

we have the same problem with Cognos 11.0.11 here. Since nearly one year the IBM support try to help us, without any progress until now.
Even if a support employee never would say this in public, they have told us that Cognos 11 is really a buggy version and that they are very unsatisfied with it.
We have come to the decision not to upgrade to Cognos 11. We will wait for the next major relase or even drop Cognos completly.
I can only say, don't use Cognos 11.

Best regards Jörn.

Morning all,

Checked from the dispatcher as suggested (not sure why i didn't do that to start with, thanks for the usual reminder MFGF ;D) and the majority of the errors disappear, so I htink you are spot on with the config error somewhere in my IIS config. I better get digging into that one. I was hoping that the failure messages would help identify where the problem is but don't think its that helpful.

I do still see two errors though from the dispatcher and i've attached a screen that shows these.  I'll take a look in more depth with these once i can get the bigger problem sorted.

Another sanity-check question. Do you have any extensions or themes installed? You could try using the factorymode=true switch on the dispatcher URL to see if you get the same errors reported?

Cheers!

Its a clean install at present so no themes or extensions added just yet.
Still tried it with the factory mode switch and I still get the annoying errors which include some of these beauties.

jquery.js:7860 GET https://analytics.supplychain.nhs.uk/Analytics/bi/v1/users/~/user_profile_settings 500 (Internal Server Error)

log4javascript.js:148 at n.<anonymous> (https://analytics.supplychain.nhs.uk/Analytics/bi/js/glass/bundle.js?v=11.0.11:10:227869) Internal error retrieving user profile settings:Internal Server Error

Definitely time to go and review every aspect of the IIS config, step by step :'(

Hi Jon,

As it's complaining about retrieving user profile settings, I'd also check the config of your authentication provider to make sure all is as it should be. Probably a red herring, but it doesn't hurt to check :)
