Different table cell widths in individual table rows (v 11)

I'm building a report that has two columns of different data containers, so I've created a two-column, many-row table as my primary layout object just below page.

The first 10 or so rows are defined as the first cell being 85% width, and the second being the remainder (so no setting), with the crosstabs or text boxes in each of these set to 100% of their available space. So far so good.

A bit further down the report, I need the cells to be divided 50%/50%. While the size & overflow property will take this width assignment, the render of it remains at the 85%/15% arrangement.

In a previous version of the report multiple tables were used, which could work, but the ability to change cell size in an individual row surely is not impossible?

Also, once the table is defined, can I remove rows? I can't find anywhere to adjust the initial table definition.

And finally - merging cells? Possible?

You can merge cells by using ctrl+click on the desired cells and then selecting the merge option on the context toolbar (second option from the right, next to the ... more menu). You can only merge cells that are horizontally adjacent.

To delete a row, click on any cell in the row and press the delete key. It will then ask if you want to delete the entire column (default) or the entire row. Alternatively, click on any cell in the row and use the ... more menu to select the delete option. Same dialogue will appear asking if you want to remove the entire column or the entire row.

To solve your variable width columns, I would suggest you merge the two cells in the desired row, set the padding all around to 0 px and then bring in another table to make the 85/15 column width settings. I am not aware of any way to have different column widths within the same table.

Ah, delete seems obvious now.

Thanks for the tip on merging, and suggestion for the 50/50. Appreciate it!
