UDA-SQL-0601 Cannot access blob data of previous rows

I have a Cognos reporting question.

In my report I am trying to write, I have 2 different issues.  This is a list style report.

1.  I can go forward through the report rows ok.  But if I go back, I get the error in the title.  "Cannot access blob data of previous rows".  It is on a text field comments - which is text data.  Is there a way I can modify the report to be able to scroll back and still have that field?

2.  If i change the report format to pdf - my columns are showing 1 column per page.  I've adjusted the width to try to fix it, but it doesn't seem to fix it.

If you need more information, or can help me out with some suggestions - it would be appreciated!  Thanks!

Hi,

You don't mention what version of Cognos BI you are using. You've posted in the ReportNet section, but I'm guessing you probably have one of the Cognos 10 builds?

There was an APAR for this specific issue, and it was fixed in Cognos 10.2.2 Fix Pack 1.

Yes - it's Cognos 10.  Although it's a bit crippled as it's part of an Infor EAM version 11 installation.  Those installs give you report studio but not everything that's in Cognos.  With that said, I don't know that I can upgrade the Cognos without breaking its' tie to Infor EAM.

Please tell me if I'm wrong on that one.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure, but it's just a Cognos install - whether the capabilities are locked down or not. You don't need to reinstall to apply a fix pack - it installs over the top of your current instance. Looks like the fix was included in 10.2.2 FP1 and 10.2.1 FP7 - what version of Cognos BI are you using?

Hello Sanpas, Axeal,

Good to hear that you have resolved the issue. I have the same issue.
I wanted to display WO from r5events table and WO comments (Has multiple comments for each wo) from r5addetails table. So created a master list with r5events query and included a detail list query with r5addetails and gave master detail relationship between evt_code and Add_code. this display both WO and Comments when ran in PDF/HTML but when trying to ran in EXCEL DATA  ( Not EXCEL DATA FORMAT ) comments are not displayed.

Also Tried with creating a Join relationship between two queries. No luck.

But when I remove the Groupby on WO and Status report works fine and displays comments in two separate records for multiple comments. But  I donot want to see Duplicate records for WO and Status.

Please find the attachement.

Cognos v10.2.1 (with Latest FixPack).

Appreciate if you can help/ give suggestions..? Please let me know if you need more clarification. ;)

Thanks in advance,
MLVS
