Yes, I think this came out last week but has only very limited features added. We are all waiting for the conversations feature that integrates some of watson analytics features into cognos analytics. I believe there is only one more minor version before cognos moves to 11.1 when they will probably release these features.

Hi,

I don't think IBM have a fixed schedule for releases - or at least not one they publish externally. You can browse the new features guide for 11.0.12 and it also shows new and deprecated features for previous releases too:

Cheers!

IBM planned and kept mostly an three month releasy cycle. However, they plan Cognos 11.1 this year which might mess up the cycle.

Over 10 days and still no fix list:  http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27047208
Since IBM won't tell us, does anybody here know why this release exists?

And I love the 11.0.11 fix list that has one fix with no hyperlink listed above the table.  I'm sure IBM is happy to have us all (not) on the payroll to perform QA.

I suspect the features added in 11.0.12 were included to make them available as part of the coming 11.0.13 LTS release.

It's interesting that 19+ months after the release of Cognos Analytics IBM is finally providing a LTS (probably worthy of its own forum topic), but that doesn't address the problem.  Why was there a release in which nothing was fixed?  Does this release contain only feature enhancements and no bug fixes?

I suspect there are some fixes. In 11.0.11 I was seeing some odd behaviour in maps, but it seems to be back to normal in 11.0.12. I'm not sure why IBM haven't published a fix list for this one. I might try asking one of my secret insiders...

Hi

I asked IBM the question on why there has been no fix list since release 11 and they responded with this:

Unfortunatly it was decided to discontinue the fix list with Release 12.

If you require a status update on an APAR you need to open a Support ticket and ask for the status of this specific APAR.

Bit silly really, these lists are very important to us.

CognosPaul

I'll be posting the fix lists on my blog until IBM starts publishing these again.

In the meantime:
11.0.12 Fix List
11.0.13 Fix List

Thanks Paul!

Thanks, Paul.  But if those aren't from IBM, how were they produced?

CognosPaul

They are from IBM, but I'm concerned that I've missed some. Fixes that don't have the resolution that exactly matches my search term won't be included.

I generated by doing a search for

"Upgrade to IBM Cognos Analytic 11.0.12.0"
and
"Upgrade to IBM Cognos Analytic 11.0.13.0"

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/search.wss?q=%22Upgrade%20to%20IBM%20Cognos%20Analytic%2011.0.12.0%22&ibm-search=site

CognosPaul

This is interesting, the search results aren't static as you next through them. The results change order on the fly, during your search session. This is why my results have duplicates. I need to figure out how to account for this.

CognosPaul

And I found a nice hacky way of doing it. Thank god for network sniffing. No more repeats, and now the posts have all of the fixes

Remind me to buy you a beer, Paul. :)
