Unable to burst a report

Hi ,

I have created a report  that I want to burst. For prototyping purpose I have hot-coded email ID in a data item and did a union of such two queries so that it will produce two rows having two unique email IDs. Now the report just has the user name and their email IDs. When I run the report it runs fine and I can see the report output.
After making sure that the report is running, I set the bursting options and scheduled the report. I can see that the report is running and I can also see the output as saved PDF(set while scheduling) but I do not receive any email. I have testing just sending an email to confirm that the SMTP server is set up.
Any clues why bursting is not working.

Thanks in advance,

Anirudha

Hi,

Can you confirm exactly how you defined the burst settings in the report?

My guess is you have something defined incorrectly in here...

HI MF,

Since I am trying only with two columns for now, I have set burst options as follows:
1. Burst Key: User_Name
2. Burst Recipient: Email_Address
(Please refer the attachment)

Thats about it.

Both, User_Name and Email_Address are generated using data items and union of two queries.

Please let me know if there is any basic thing missing in the settings.

Thanks,

Hi,

This looks fine to me.  Can you confirm that the email address item being used does contain valid email addresses?  If you have the ability to do so, it's also worth checking your email server to see if any logging is being done to allow you to track if the outputs are being passed to the email server then not forwarded for some reason, or whether nothing is being sent from ReportNet to the email server.

Regards,

MF.

Is it possible to do so? Do you know where exactly should look if reportNet is at all sending anything to Email server. As I mentioned I have tested scheduling a report and sending it via email to myself which worked perfectly.

Thanks again,

Hi,

The logging (if there is any) would need to be done by your email server, not ReportNet.  Just a possible avenue to explore, really.
