Hi!

I have a multiselect promt set to required but it's not working properly.
When I execute my report this prompt is displayed as optional and the user can pass by without selecting any option.
Can someone help me please?
Thanks!!

The "Required" property on the prompt control needs to correspond to the "Usage" property for the filter in the query.

If your prompt control has "Required" set to "Yes" then your filter in the query should have "Usage" property set as "Required".

Thanks for your answer!
Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. I dont' have any filter in the query associated to my prompt.
I am currently working on upadting a report from an older version of Cognos to another and in the older version it works properly.
Could it be a bug?

Is your source relational or dimensional? Perhaps you have a slicer rather than a filter?

If relational:
You need a filter in your query associated with the parameter your prompt control is using.

The query returns results based on the elements it references and the filters defined in the query, so if there is no filter associated with a prompt then it won't do any filtering no matter what you specify on the prompt control.

It is impossible that the older version works if there is no filter associated with the prompt control. I suspect the two versions are different.

Yes, sorry. My source is a dimensional one.
The older version has not a filter as well as the new one and the data displayed in the report is the same in both versions.
I just one the client to select one of the options displayed in the prompt to continue.
