I can run reports fine until,  after clicking on Activities in the Manage portion of Analytics the CogAudit log gets filled with attached text document.  I have no clue what is causing this.  Then after that the whole site slows down.  I have no clue what the indices are either.

The log indicates you have a Content Manager problem. It seems to think you have a secondary content manager and when it tries to figure out which one should be active, it causes an internal error. So it tries again, every 30 seconds.

Is this a new install? Is everything on one server including the content store database, or are there multiple servers involved? Are you able to run reports for a while and if you wait long enough the log fills even if you do not go into Manage? Was it working until recently? Any recent server or configuration changes?

If you sure it is configured correctly, you may need to call support for help with the "internal error".

Is this a new install? NO, it was an upgrade from 11.0.5, 6, 7, 8, & 9.
Is everything on one server including the content store database, or are there multiple servers involved? Content Store/Audit/Notification Database is on another Server.
Are you able to run reports for a while and if you wait long enough the log fills even if you do not go into Manage? I can run reports and edit them. I can open Admin Console. Until going to Activities then it freezes up.
Was it working until recently? I noticed the issue in the last two versions R7, R8 but hoped updating would fix it.
Any recent server or configuration changes? Nothing since moving the dispatcher server back on 11.0.4 to the current server.

If you sure it is configured correctly, you may need to call support for help with the "internal error". The Internal Server Error with Requests to the bi/v1/indices occurs regardless even after the nightly restart of the service (when our backups occur)
I feel a clean install for the dispatcher/portal may be required.

If you look in the Cognos Configuration utility on the server, what entry or entries exist in the Content Manager URIs property in the Environment page? You'll need to do this on both the server running your content manager and the server running your application services. I have a feeling you will find the application server config will be looking at a local instance of content manager rather than the one on your content manager server...

Well unless the localhost which is natt8 in my case needs to be removed.  As for application server config, are you referring to external ones for Cognos? I don't have that running. Now if you mean IIS application server which is what this is installed on then if you can guide me there please let me know. I do run FrameworkManager from my local PC, if that matters. I attached my environment screenshot.
Thanks!

Hi,

Unless I have misunderstood, you have two servers in your architecture - one that has Content Manager installed and one that has the CA application services installed? Or am I completely wrong and you have everything Cognos related all on one server and all your databases on another?

If the former, you need to check the config on both machines (which is what I was alluding to in the previous post). If you only have one server, then we need to look elsewhere...

In that case just check that you have only one entry in the Content Manager URIs property in the Environment page, and that it points to your server.

Also, fire up the Administration Console in your browser, go to the Configuration tab, select Dispatchers and Services on the left, and make sure that you only have one dispatcher shown in your configuration, for your current server. If there is a second one pointing to a different server, use the "More..." option and unregister it.

Cheers!

The Admin Console only shows the one dispatcher and as for the Content Manager URIs it only has the one pointing to the server.
I restarted the Service and still the same error.  Thanks for your help. I did open 2 cases with IBM on both errors to see if I can get somewhere.

Just a small update. Still have my cases Open with IBM.  And one tech I have spoken with and WebEx'ed mentioned that it seems many other users doing upgrade installations have a similar issue. Their solution so far has been to do a complete reinstall. So just a FYI, even though from R6 and up, these upgrades on top of the previous installation are to be simple. It turns out that that may not be the case.  I will let you know the outcome as this progresses.
Thanks!
