Hi - I don't have Analytics installed yet, so please forgive me if this is a very simple/obvious question. I've seen demos showing reports and graphs etc. from based on a spreadsheet. Can you then link those reports to the spreadsheet on the network so that if the data in the spreadsheet changes it's reflected in the report?

Hi Chris,

If you're referring to the ability for users to upload and use spreadsheets/files, there's no automated way currently. In CA you first upload the spreadsheet, which means CA ingests it and analyses it. You can then use the uploaded data (I think CA loads it into Apache Parquet) directly in a dashboard or a data module (which a report can be based on). If you want the data to be updated, you need to repeat the upload, though.

The alternative would be to add a named region to the spreadsheet and to link to it via ODBC from a Framework Manager package (the way you would in C10). This would mean you were reporting on the spreadsheet in-place, and updating it would reflect in the reports (if you could get around the locking issue).

Cheers!

MF.

Thanks MF - the way we do it at the moment is with an SSIS package to truncate then import the data into the database, but I might investigate the ODBC link in case that's an easier route...thanks for the pointer.

Cheers,
Chris
