Hi Guys,

I am looking for an option to draw 2 lines in my chart at 60% and 80% of capacity utilization so that users know when some action needed from their side.
When I add marker, it just add a dot in the chart.

I need horizontal line for entire axis. Tried what is mentioned in cognos user guide but not working. I got a line vertically, but not able to change to horizontal or get a new horizontal line.

BigChris

Sounds like you need to add a couple of Numeric Baselines to your chart

sunily

I added category baseline -> Percent on Axis(%) but that is creating vertical line.
How can I change property to make it horizontal?

BigChris already suggested you should use numeric baselines. These create a baseline perpendicular to the numeric axis of your chart whereas a category baseline puts the line perpendicular to your category axis.

Which type of chart are you using? Do you see a property for numeric baselines? Can you provide more information about how you have populated elements in your chart?

sunily

Ok, I used numeric baseline and selected percent on axis. But I am still missing them. Then I tried to change output format to HTML instead of excel and I can see those lines in that.

Attaching the screenshot from both HTML and Excel.

Why those markers missing when output format is selected as excel?

Also in some new reports, I see same graph plotted where as those capacity and used capacity values are different for each storage? What I am missing in that?

Appendix E of the report studio user guide explains limitations when rendering to Excel and baselines are listed as a chart property that is not supported in Excel.

I don't understand your second question but if you provide more specific information about how those data items are computed and used in the chart you might get more response on that.

Thanks BigChris and Lynn for the pointers.

For the second question, refer attachment. As you see every pool have different capacity and used capacity but chart is not referring those values and same chart is rendered for all pool names.

It looks like you have the chart embedded within a list. How is the master-detail relationship defined?

sunily

Thanks Lynn for the pointer. Master detail relationship was linked with storage name. I changed that to pool name and it worked.

Thanks again for helping out.
