Wondering if anyone has any news or insight as to if and when IBM is going to release a new version of Go Office that supports MS Office 2013?

Sorry for the trouble.

Hi,

From the Supported Environments page, it looks like 10.2.1 already has support for MS Office 2013.

Cheers!

As a content viewer, but I can't find anything there that talks specifically to the plug in, Cognos for Microsoft Office (Go Office).  When we install it, the tab will not show up on the ribbon.

Yes - as a content viewer. This is the conformity info for Cognos for MS Office. Above it in the document is MS Excel, which is for the Excel rendering types.

What "bitness" MS Office are you using - 32 or 64? What install of Cognos for MS Office are you using - 32 or 64? The two need to match up. The "bitness" of Cognos for MS Office is dictated by the "bitness" of MS Office you have, not by the "bitness" of your Cognos 10 BI install.

We got it to work.  Person attempting to install had old version that must have been messing things up.  After clearing old version and reinstalling it works fine.  Both 32 and 64 bit versions work with their corresponding Office installs.

A final note that someone may find interesting.  The go office 64bit installer doesn't work if you installed office using an office 365 subscription.  I guess 365 installs it in a different location so the Cognos installer can't find it.  We had to download office from MSDN and install it, after which the Cognos installer worked.

Hi Redstang,

when you say that the old version was there. Do you mean an old version of Cognos BI for MS Office or something else? I'm facing the same issue than you (I do not see the IBM Cognos tab in Excel 2013.

The version of IBM Cognos for MS Office we use is named "ofc 10.1.1 for bi 10.2.1".

Thanks for your answer and eventually the detailed steps you performed.

The old version of cognos for microsoft office was installed on the PC.  He had 10.1 installed AND 10.2, so he uninstalled both of them and then reinstalled 10.2 and then it showed up in excel.

Very helpful thank you.

My experience, on dell xps laptops with Windows 8.1 installed and office 2013 32bits I could not see the tab "Ibm Cognos" even though the install was done. I uninstalled everything, ran it again and I added the FP1. Since then it's working. And don't forget to check the "unique access" in the options if using SSO.

Hello,

I am trying to import a Cognos (10.2.1) list report to MS Powerpoint (2010) using Go Office (10.2).
My Cognos list report retrieves total 80 rows( including Header) on one single page. But the number of rows imported in PowerPoint table (as one single page) is only 75. If I put a limitation on the Cognos report to retrieve 75 rows in one page and the out put of the report comes in 2 pages (75 rows in one page and rest 5 in other page). Then The Go office import on 2 pages show correct number of records (75 rows on one slide and rest 5 on other slide). But I need all the 80 records to show on one slide. Please share your thoughts on this.

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

You'll find it under the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Administrator 10.2.2 Microsoft Windows Multilingual eAssembly (CRTA4ML) on Passport Advantage. The specific download to look for is IBM Cognos for Microsoft Office 10.2.2 Microsoft Windows Multilingual (CN1YSML )

Cheers!

Hi,

Thanks for your help, under passport advantage I could find CN1YSML but when I downloaded it I could see that it is for 10.1 version, so my doubt is if this would work for 10.2.2 version?

Excel analysis is there for 10.2.2 version.
