Moving Workspace Advanced Script or Program to 11 G

Quick question,

I need to move our Workspace Advanced files to the new Analytics environment. Is there anyway to use the Tools-Copy Report to Clipboard option to move a file from 10G to 11G so in 11G I would use Open Report from Clipboard.
I understand, the Workspace Advanced doesn't exist in Analytics and it is part of the Report Studio?

There is neither report studio nor workspace advanced in v11 -- it is just authoring.

There is an option to copy the report to the clipboard from within either report studio or workspace advanced in version 10.

To open the report from the clipboard in version 11, click on the pages button in the left pane and then right-click on the report icon to select the option to open from clipboard.

If you have a lot of reports to migrate, an administrator can export a deployment archive from 10 and then import it into 11.

I think what you are trying to do is copy a report specification from a Cognos 10 environment to a Cognos Analytics 11 environment.  Yes, you can do this.  I don't remember if there is a "Copy Report to Clipboard" function in Workspace Advanced.  If not, just use the one in Report Studio.  Once in Cognos Analytics Reporting, use "Open Report from Clipboard".

There is no Cognos 11G.  I think 11G is a version number for Oracle products.

Thank you, Works well. So, the ability to Drag and Drop Columns from the Right Panel in Workspace Advanced is not there any more I take it and I need to train the power users to do something else to have the Meta Data available on one side and the Page countent on the other side? Right?

I'm not sure what you mean by

Drag and Drop Columns

.  Do you mean the ability to drag query items from the Data Pane onto a list or crosstab?  Maybe there is a permissions problem, but it seems like if that were the case they couldn't edit the report at all.  I don't see how they would have permission to open Reporting and not have permission to use the Data pane.

Thanks for the reply. I played with it a little longer and using the Report option does the trick. I can do the same interface that allows to Drag the columns from the Package to the List in the middle and work with other available widgets. I think I'm good now.

We are trying to have a report to default display in Page preview mode... Have you tried this?
