Displaying Others as a single member

I'm using CA 11.0.5. We have a DMR model. In that model we have a dimension Customer groups with e.g. 10 members

Our requirement is that the users want to drag&drop 3 customer groups and display all 7 other groups as a single member summarized. Like in the diagram below

                  SALES | OTHERMEASURE ...
GROUP A |  9858   |
GROUP B | 1546    |
GROUP C |  28787 |
OTHERS | 14555   |
-----------------------------------------
TOTAL |  191851 |

Is that possible to do in a simple manner for end users with basic Cognos knowledge? This will mostly be used in a self service scenario and the sets that they will use will vary greatly.
Thanks for your answers.

Can you elaborate a little? Are the three groups fixed to be A, B and C or could they be different groups each time (eg A, F and H plus Others)?

If they are fixed, you could add an extra level to your DMR hierarchy with members of A, B, C and Others?

They are not fixed, one user may select A,B,C, the other can select F and G, etc. all the groups that are unused should be in others.

Hi,
Hi,
Can you cretae a prompt for selecting the members? if so create a set with the selected members from the prompt and create another set using except to exclude the members that are selected and do total of measure within the set and use it for the others.

Good luck

If I create a prompt, it will always prompt the user each time he adds a dimension or a measure , drills , or does anything. Anyway, there are at least a dozen dimensions they want to do this "Others on". We are giving them an DMR model as a self service tool with Report Authoring (Preview mode). IBM's mouth we so full of self service for Cognos 11, but I'm failing to see the benefits.

Hi,
I don't think there is a way to create the data item 'Other' dynamically.
Good luck
