Cognos 10.2 FM CQE MIGRATION to Cognos 11 DQM

Hello All,

I needed some inputs on the approach towards migrating FM to DQM version.

My current model was built in Cognos 10.2 version and is a CQE model. I understand that to convert a model and the packages to DQM, you will need to ensure the DSN is JDBC enabled, interface property is set correctly and the model property is updated to Dynamic Query. This converts the model into DQM mode and subsequently you can publish the existing packages in DQM mode as well.

I am contemplating the following options, and needed your guidance on the same.

1) Keep the current model as is (CQE mode for both relational and DMR View), and re-publish only the existing packages using Dynamic Query mode.

2) Keep the current model as is  (CQE mode for both relational and DMR View) , and create new package with the same data elements and publish this new package in DQM. The old packages will continue to exist in CQE mode and be later disabled/ removed.

3) Is it at all possible to create a new namespace within the current model and then only use that namespace to use DQM mode? This does not seem like an option available yet in FM, but just trying to see what is a possible workaround.

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.
