Analytics 11.0.6 Admin Page Not Rendering Properly

Hi All,
I just installed Cognos Analytics 11.0.6 on a dev box (OS Win Svr 2008R2, IE11, SQL Svr 2014) and everything went well until, from the Welcome page, I opened the Administration console. The page does not render properly in the IE11 browser. I tried it with Chrome and got the same result - so it may not be a browser issue. I've attached a screen shot of the malformed Admin page.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

Can you confirm what URL you are using as your starting point before trying to launch the Admin console? Is it http://sas-w7u-vm001:9300/bi or are you using something different? The URL shown in the image you posted seems to indicate you're starting from something different?

Yes, that was the issue! I was using "http://sas-w7u-vm001:80/ibmcognos/bi/". That brought up the "Welcome" page OK, but when I selected "Administration console" the malformed admin page appeared. By changing the initial URL to "http://sas-w7u-vm001:9300/bi/", both the Welcome page and the Administration Console are now rendering properly.
Thanks a bunch for the heads up! Thanks to you, problem solved!!  :)

Hmmmm...

Port 80 and the 'ibmcognos' part of the url seem to indicate you were using a web server? Was that your intention, and if so is there a reason you need to? If so, the rendering issues could have been caused by incorrect configuration of the web server? The url on port 9300 uses the inbuilt Cognos Analytics Servlet gateway, and bypasses any web server you may have configured.

Cheers!

You are so right! I am using IIS web server and by using port 9315 I'm bypassing, so my problem persists. By reverting back to port 80 the malformed Administration page re-appears. The URL for the Welcome Page is "http://sas-w7u-vm001/ibmcognos/bi/?perspective=home" and the URL for the Administration Console is "http://sas-w7u-vm001/ibmcognos/bi/v1/disp?b_action=cogadmin".
I have double checked and triple checked my IIS and Cog Config settings and can't see any errors. Also, I am running Analytics 11.0.4 on another box (a clone of this one) with exactly the same settings, and it runs just fine with no page rendering problems.
And, as I said previously, the same page rendering error occurs with either IE11 or Chrome.
So I'm back to square one - totally stumped...  :(

If I was a betting man, I'd wager there's something amiss in your web server configuration somewhere. It might be worth trying to set it up again from scratch? Alternatively, if there's no specific reason for using IIS, don't bother - just use the servlet gateway on port 9300...

Cheers!

Yup I know the issue and have solved it. Quite simple in the end for a really annoying issue. Took me a few weeks and a deleted AD account to finally locate and fix.

See my thread above. You had a style/skins set previously in Cognos 10.

This is what my problem was as well. The user logged in as had their style/theme set  to something not setup on our 11 install. Setting it back to default for that  user addressed the problem.
