Hi all,

We want to build a Cognos-failover-cluster with 2 machines.
Is it possible, to process all adhoc-reportings to one server, and process all the reports that are business-critical on the second server?

Thanks in advance for your comments...

Hi,

You can define routing rules that will direct queries for a package/group/role to a specific server or group of servers.  If you get inventive with your roles, for example, you can probably end up with all your ad-hoc query users belonging to one role and all the business-critical users belonging to another.  I guess that would be your easiest route here.

MF.

Hi MFGF,

Thank you for your reply. All I have is one question left:
What if I have users, who will both be performing adhoc queries and business-critical reports?

Hi,

In that case, you'd probably need to publish separate packages for the ad-hoc and standard reports, and define your routing rules based on package.

Thank you MF, I'll keep that in mind...
