Hi Experts,

When cognos services are brought down and when someone tries to access while its down, we usually get the below error

"The IBM Cognos gateway is unable to connect to the IBM Cognos BI server. The server may be unavailable or the gateway may not be correctly configured. "

Is there a way to customize it ?

I tried to modify the error description in the file ../cognos/msgsdk/cognoscgiMsg_en.xml
But it does not reflect the changes I made when services were brought down.

Am I missing something here. Any advice is much appreciated.

Hi,

Did you make this change on the server where the gateway is installed? Did you restart your web server after making the change - it may be that it has cached the page?

Hi MF,

Thanks for the response. Our dispatcher and gateway is present in the same server. I even restarted the web server but still I dont see the changes when i bring down cognos services.

Is there anything tht i am missing out. Thanks in advance.

Hi Esar,

Do you have any update on this. Even I got the same request.

If you have any solution for this please share it me to my mail id (...which has been removed by a moderator. I should have read the Forum Etiquette post before including my email address in a post...)

Regards
