Hi,

If you used the Easy Install, you should be able to add your own users.

Select Manage in the left navigation pane, and click on Accounts
Click on the Cognos namespace. Do you see the New User icon at the top?

Thanks a lot,Its working fine,I am able to create the user.
I have one doubt,The user we created is in cognos level ,but in cognos 8 and 10 we dont have option to create user, only we can import user from any authentication.so is the working principle changed in cognos analytics.

Thanks,
K.M

Hi,

Only if you use the Easy Install option. When you do this, you get an auto-installed instance of ApacheDS to act as the authentication provider, and the ability to manage it (users etc) from within Cognos Analytics. If you don't use the Easy Install, you can use any supported authentication provider you like, but you manage the users externally (just like in Cognos 8/10).

Cheers!

Can any help me on this how to create the users and give the userID/Password to them so that they can log in and access the Cognos.

Please see the attached screenshot.

Hi,

The "Easy Install" is only available on Windows platforms. On Linux you will need to install and configure your own authentication provider and manage the users externally from your Cognos instance.

Hi,

I answered in your other post - but for completeness the answer is no - this is not an supported authentication provider for CA. Try looking at Open Source LDAP providers such as ApacheDS.

Cheers!
