Produce fixed width flat file in Cognos

Hello all,

Is it possible to produce a fixed width flat file in Cognos ?  I know I can produce a comma delimited flat file, that won't work for what I need.  Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks

You can concatenate fields together and pad them if you need a specific number of characters.

You can probably rig something up along the lines of what BigChris said.

On the other hand, Cognos is a reporting/BI tool - not a data dump/extraction tool. You are trying to use a drill press as a hammer. You would be way better off using a proper tool for the job.

Yep. Exactly as above. Cognos is an Analytics tool, not an ETL tool.
