Hi experts,

I have a requirement where in report studio, a report has to be built that displays measures in the intersection of dimension header. However this is not as straightforward as building a crosstab:

How can the following be achieved with the same structure?

                                             Email                  Fax               Sales Visit

Camping Equipment               Quantity               Quantity            ''
                                              Sales                    Sales              ''
                                         Sales Target         Sales Target          ''

Mountaineering Equipment    Quantity                  Quantity           ''
                                              Sales                     Sales              ''
                                          Sales Target              Target             ''

and so on ................ for all product lines

Note that the order methods are displayed horizontally. The quote marks simply mean repetition of the same measures for sales visit as well. I could not achieve this with a crosstab because there are multiple measures that are displayed vertically for each product line and order method intersection.

Would be great if you could help me with this.

Just as with any other crosstab where it's done horizontally - once you have multiple measures in a crosstab, you need to add the measures to crosstab nodes. Check the attachment as to how it should look like in RS.

No problem, glad I could help. Personally, I completely understand where you're coming from - I find designing crosstabs in Cognos unnecessarily unintuitive and cumbersome (especially when coming from a different BI suite by a certain other three-letter company that did crosstabs really well ;)), but one *can* warm up to them.
