Cognos Dash Line Turns solid at some intervals in Line Chart

Hello Cognos experts,

I am facing an issue in Cognos 10.2.2 where a line that is supposed to be dashed turns solid in a line chart.  I tried to display every other interval but the users want to see the chart trend in its entirety.  The strange thing is that the lines are dashed properly when I export to PDF and when I create a simple RAVE chart but not in the out-of-the-box cognos line chart. Anyone face this issue before, and if so, how did you resolve it?
