Hi all,

Recently we migrated from Cognos 7.3 to cognos 8.2. We are using the Cognos series 7 security Namespace in Cognos 8.2. How can you set up specified users to have access to specific folders (i.e. user1 should only see Folder1 in the Public Folders)?

Thanks,

vissuma

you will need to do that in cognos connection under tools directory, select cognos
and create your own groups, set permissions for the group and add users to the group.

then go to public folders, select the folder which you want to set access rights, add the groups defined above to the respective
folders.

Note:
first step will be to add yourself to the system admin group then disable everyone group/role in cognos directory.
