Workspace refreshes data but does not seem to check credentials

Good morning Gurus!
I have a Workspace in 10.2.2 with 14 tabs/about 8 widgets per tab. My underlying reports are filtered based on a macro that searches for AD group. I have several clients that use the same Workspace. When I save the report with my current credentials (client ABC), all clients see the data for Client ABC. It takes a reset of each widget to have them see their data, which is unfortunate since they consume on an iPad where you cannot reset.
My question is: Does Workspace not go back to the underlying report each time the widget is refreshed, right down to the filters and /or credentials?

The way I believe Cognos Workspace widgets work is that the xml from the original report part selected is copied into a new hidden report in the content store, and it's this xml that is getting used in the widget. You can't get to this through Cognos Connection, but if you use functionality like "Find report dependencies" in Framework Manager, they show up in the list there (with the most unintelligible names).

Thanks. Is there a way to force the macro to find the credentials even in that hidden report? would the Workspace reset utility force the reset even on the hidden xml?
