Date Prompt Required Property not Working

In Prompt page there is a Date Prompt. To make it mandatory I had set its Required Property as Yes,. The Date Prompt Displays the Current date by default. But Even though I click on Finish Button with out entering date the report runs. I want the date Prompt to be blank, so that the user will enter the date or it should Display a message to prompt the user to enter the Value for Date prompt.
