Report with On Page Prompts

Hello. I have a report that I created with on-page date range (From and To) prompts.  The list report below should default to rendering to today's date, however, if the prompts are used to change it from today's date, then once those dates are submitted, the list report should change to reflect the new dates.  The problem:  I have created the prompts, and the report is automatically running for today.  However, when I change the dates, I get no data, because the query is only seeing today.  I figured this will need a special render variable, but not sure how.  But also to complicate this, I will be adding HTML items that will automatically refresh the data every minute.

Are the prompt values being included in a detail filter or a slicer (which depends on data source, relational or dimensional)?

Which is it? Detail filter or slicer? They are different things.

Can you share the expression you are using in the detail filter? Can you confirm you're using a relational package and that the item you are prompting for and filtering on is a date datatype?
