Doesn't date prompt create a separate query?

1. As in value prompt a new is generated, in the same manner, why in date prompt, a separate query is not generated.
2. when we create a date prompt , should i select all queries , when asked during creation of date prompt.

1. A value prompt needs to retrieve the values to display in the prompt from your data source. It uses a query to do this. A date prompt uses an inbuilt calendar to allow you to select a date or dates. It doesn't retrieve the dates from your data source so there's no need for a query.

2. What are the requirements for filtering? Which query or queries need to be filtered on dates?
