Upgrading between versions ?

Hi Folks,
Upgrading from one version of Cognos Analytics to another version, I noticed that there is no way to backup (via a deployment package) any custom uploaded user content.
Has anyone found a way to back up any XLS or CSV files that have been uploaded by users as part of a migration and upgrade of versions.

Has anyone installed from previous fix releases over the top of their existing installation successfully and seen their user content remain or do users need to recreate and reupload and relink content ?.

I've tried the old fashioned deployment option in the admin console and there is no way to take custom user upload content as part of the deployment.

I'm in the process of at the moment of doing an OTT install from 11.0.1 to 11.0.3.

I have a distributed environment, GW, CM and DI server.

IBM state that there is no need to copy/backup any files, all new releases of the software are treated in the same way as Fix pack installs.

That said, I have had assurances from all levels in IBM that OTT works, on 2 occasions not 11.0.1 to 11.0.2 did not work, and neither has 11.0.1 to 11.0.3.

Currently working with support, I'll send an update as soon as I have one.

I logged a support case with IBM when I tried to install OTT with 11.0.3 - there response was to do a clean installation.
So that suggests to me that OTT doesn't work. I wasted near on 2 days trying to troubleshoot, provide logs, step-by-step instructions to IBM support to be told to reinstall from clean.

Do you have any 3rd part s/w installed such as BSP ?
