Hi All,

I have two cross tab in one report(Actuals and Benchmark) whenever actuals is blank,I want to blank the benchmark value also..How to get the column value in the cross tab report.Say for example ,if the column co-ordinate is e1.Can I write the render variable like if the column (e1) is null then dont return the next crosstab report?.

Lynn

Isn't this the same concept as your other post?

Did you ever attempt any of the techniques suggested on that one? You could simply adapt for this similar requirement it seems.

Hi Lynn,

I achieved it by inserting the list and make it null..But i was asked to achieve it without inserting list.I tried by using the rowcount but I dint get that. Thanks

So is this thread asking the same question as the other one or are you after something different?

If there is no result set then there is no data from which you can get a row count or anything else. What is the reason for asking you not to use a list? Have they provided any other restrictions on approach? If someone knows how they don't want you to achieve it then surely they should be able to provide guidelines on how they want you to do it.

Yes it is thread of my previous post..Can I achieve it through column value of crosstab?..Crosstab uses the column named "period",whenever it returns the null value it blanks the second crosstab. Is that possible?

Lynn

Even if that is possible I think you'll need to have the second crosstab involved in some sort of master/detail relationship so it wouldn't be any different than the two working solutions I already provided (m/d to page or m/d to outer list).
