De-activate or hide value prompts on a prompt page

Hi,
I'd like to use 1 prompt page and dependant on what type of report the user wants to see (details or summary - selection is driven via value prompt with conditional values) I'd like to hide or deactivate certain value prompts on my prompt page. E.g. when the user selects the details report option I will need to diplay all prompts, but when he/she wants to see only a summary report, I'd like to hide some of the value prompts, since these are not relavant anymore. Is there some sort of function available that allows me to do this.

Use a cascading prompt that filters on the first prompt if it can be filtered.
Otherwise create a second prompt page and apply conditional variable to hide/show depending on the values from 1st prompt page.
