Hi All,

Is there a way to customize the default UI on Cognos analytics. Below are the list of changes we are looking for:
1.Hiding the left grey bar which has the search option. The Search option should appear on the top blue bar of the UI.
2.Hide/Removal the name of the report/dashboard which appears in the middle of the top blue bar of cognos UI.
3.Putting the notification/alert at the top blue bar  of the cognos analytics UI.

Regards,
Clive

Hi,

I don't think IBM have provided a way to do this currently. I'm hoping it's something they decide to add to the product, but as of now I don't know of a way to do this.

Hi all,

I have done these changes in my project. we have changes the welcome page, the login page and also customized the default messages on welcome page and query studio.

I have done this by changing the jss files and a few other file in cognos install as this was a must requirement

Kindly email me at deepinasingh@gmail.com to get the  files.

Just some insight about our branding and framing issues:

We used a Motio product called Theia to accomplish this.

Thanks,

Is it possible to use themes and extensions based on user login? If I have a multitenant environment, I want my client A to see his logo, brand and his company colors when they log in. While client B sees their own. How can I achieve this?

Hi all,

I created a custom welcome page using the sample; modified the html content and left everything else as is. After setting it as the default landing page, I get this page as the default when I login without any problem. I have integrated cognos analytics into our .net application and when I get into cognos analytics from within .net application in chrome I don't face any problem but when I do the same using IE (IE11 is what I am using) then I get the attached error. Even if I remove everything in the html page I still get the same error based on which I assume that the issue is not with HTML. The file being shown in the error message is the .js file and I am not able to figure out what is causing the problem.

When I look at the URL of the frame where cognos analytics is loading, here is what I get.

https://xxx.xxx.xxx.com/cognosanalytics/bi/undefined/cognosanalytics/bi/undefined/cognosanalytics/bi/undefined/cognosanalytics/bi/?perspective=InsightHome

In chrome this is what I get for the frame URL

https://xxx.xxx.xxx.com/cognosanalytics/bi/?perspective=InsightHome

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kiran

Update:

I get the same error even with the sample welcome page that is part of cognos Samples.

Thanks

Hi,

It's not you, it's certain builds of IE that produce this issue. Take a look at the below:

Thanks MF.

This is very critical for us and hence we have opened a PMR with IBM. Will update if they provide any solution.

Thanks,
Kiran

I have the same issue and while working with IBM we found out that it is specific to  IE 11.0.10240.17184  it will work with other versions of IE. Such as the version coming with windows 10 cumulative updates 1607 for instance.

Might be worth you looking into installing Windows 10 Cumulative Update 1607?

I'll be releasing a free tool to create the customization code for you shortly. Hoping to have it ready in the next couple of days... I'll follow-up with an update.
