Kindly can someone tell me steps to change the background color for Tab control in active reports (Cognos 11). I did not find an option to add it as image.

Not possible, I'm afraid. You can add tables/blocks into a tab control and define colours for these, and/or add images inside the tab control, but you can't change the appearance of the tab control itself.

correct. we cannot change Tab Control color. I have used Button Bar instead and it allows to use background property.
