We are running IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0.13.1. Everything is hosted off site so we don't have access to Cognos Configuration, but do have access to Cognos Administration. We've been saving to the file system successfully for months and all of a sudden we're getting these errors. We haven't changed anything in Administration and are assuming for now that nothing has been changed in Configuration. We've also ruled disk space out. Any ideas of what could be going on?

Both errors show for all failed jobs:

  • CNC-DS-0025 Cannot write the report output to the file system : CNC-DS-0025 Cannot write the report output to the file system : [Save to File Path] (Access is denied.)..
  • RSV-DST-0014 Unable to deliver the output of the report. See the run history details for more information. Ensure that the required services are started. Ensure that the user account is configured to distribute the output in the requested manner.

Hi,

Has the domain account used for the Cognos services changed? Does that account have permission to write to the file system in the specified location? These would be the first things I'd be checking (or asking, if a third party is hosting your instance).

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply! Apparently it was a permissions issue and they changed something on their end/Configuration. Not sure how/why it was changed.

That makes complete sense. Glad you managed to find the issue quickly!
