Hi all,
I am trying to create a report which is based on two seperate queiries. So it looks like this

Q3 <<-   Q1 joined with Q2 on column x

If i take a column from Q1 which has a heirarchy set up on column x in a list report. It works fine. It works fine too, if i use Q2
But when i use Q3, which derives from Q1 and Q2. The drill up and down functaionality goes back.
pls advice
thanks

I have not personally experienced this nor tried it, but guess is that because the Join Query is trying to force a relationship between two dimensions that are not really related...  actually a Fact to Fact kind of join, maybe.

I would consider remodeling this so that the "join" is done in the metadata, then do the DMR off that "join" query in FM.

appreciate your response, it is like lot of work to do the relationship in the framework.

thanks

"it is like lot of work to do the relationship in the framework"

Can you elaborate?

Suraj

What do you mean by "But when i use Q3, which derives from Q1 and Q2. The drill up and down functaionality goes back."?
Since you are joining two fields, the resulting value is not referenced as a member in the DMR.
