Dimensional Reporting Question

Hi , we have a new requirement to show the number of business day in a month and how many days Business days have passed when i run a daily report.

I am having a text file which will give me 21 as my business day and days passed as 13.
This file value will be updated daily .


Now to bring this to cognos transformer should I bring them as measure as there are no dimension associated with them and then used them in the report.

I create a dimension as Business days , which will have 2 levels ,1 st the 21 and next the day passed as 13 and then drag them to measures.

This is working, I wanted  to know if this is a right approach.

Surely the incredibly complex logic of what constitutes a business day and the count thereof can be made into an attribute f the date dimension in the database and brought in from there? A daily-updated text files seems like a convoluted solution.
