Hi,

I have a sales cube with 7 dimensions. One time dimension which has drill down by Fiscal and Calendar Year.

I have my dimensions with lowest level having a total of 350000 categories. I am not sure how to count my transaction records.

So how do I decide on the Multi file thresh hold value, I read online but not clear on how it works,

It creates multiple .mdp files in which all data is partitioned and one .mdc will have meta data refering to it.

Please advise
Thanks,

Hi ,

this is from my error log :

Start Count and Consolidation with 37991079 rows and 397723 categories remaining.
Tue 02 Feb 2016 11:00:29 AM   4   01211709   End Count and Consolidation with 5863062 rows and 397723 categories remaining.

so what should be my threshold value ?

Also in my cube properties on Partition tab,

I have default setting with 10 million consolidated records and partition size as 500,000 and number of passes as 5 .

Do I need to chnage this also

thanks,
nithya

What does desired partition size means ? what does partioning exactly do ?

Say I have 6 million records in my source that transformer consolidates, how would this get partitioned and what are passes.

I appreciate your help on this.

Thanks,
Nithya
